The user needs at least administrator role to edit or add new projects

Project can be created from a template, in that case follow article:

Create a project

  • Go to Admin Page

  • Create project:

    • Go to Manage Organizations page, project tab and select "Create project" OR

    • Go to "Projects" page and select "New project"

  • Enter project name

  • Project UUID is automatically generated by Infrakit. It is the unique identifier of the project used by Infrakit server or API

  • Set the coordinate system by selecting from the drop down menu or enter the EPSG code

    • Coordinate system can usually be found from the design documents

    • If no design documents are found you can ask the person who created the file about the coordinate system

    • Organization matters if sub-organizations are used:

      • Users with user role "super user" can control projects inside their organization and all sub-organizations

      • Users with user role "administrator" can control projects inside their organization

  • Select the Height system for the project

      • Users with user role "administrator" can control projects inside their organization

Users can never see organizations that are above their organization in organization tree regardless of role

  • Select if project is hidden. If this choice enabled the project is only shown to administrators and super users of the organization

  • Select truck mode

  • Select Truck return trips mode

  • Optional: Select external project ID

All settings except Project UUID can be changed afterwards

Create the project by selecting "Apply" after configuring the project

Add users to project

To see how to add users to organization see chapter Create and edit users from our Admin-page article

Edit project view:

  • Navigate to project menu from admin page or select the pencil icon on map page next to the project name

  • Under the project user list select "Edit"

  • A list of users inside organizations your user has access to will be opened showing accounts on the project

  • Add or delete the checkmark next to the user's name to add or remove it from the project

  • Press Apply once finished and the changes will be made

A user will not get a notification if it is added to or removed from a project

You cannot add users from other organizations, they must be invited

If a user is added, it will get the same role to the project that it has in the account. If this needs to be changed, the user must be invited to a project

Invite users:

  • Under the invited users menu select "User invite"

  • While inviting, enter the account username, optionally enter a message and set the user role the account will get to the project

  • Select "Invite" to invite the user or "Cancel" to go back

If you get an error while inviting saying, the user does not exist, check that you have entered the correct username. If the user should exist but the same error is given while inviting, the user can be deactivated and must be enabled from their own organization before it can be invited

Remove users

  • Users can be removed from a project by:

      • Edit user list and toggle the checkmark of the user

      • Press the red cross icon next to the name of the user if it is added

      • If the user is invited, the invitation must be removed from the "Invited users" menu by clicking on the red cross icon

Admin-level users can add to or remove a user from multiple projects at once by editing the user. All available projects inside the organization the user belongs to are shown in the edit user menu and it can be added or removed from a project by toggling the checkmark next to the project name.

Add equipment

Some vendors require that you manage their equipment directly in their own service. In those cases the active project might also be controlled through their service

Add equipment to project

Some vendors use their own service to manage equipment also inside Infrakit. Please check your vendor's instructions on how to add equipment to Infrakit.

To see how to create equipment to organization see chapter Create and edit equipment from our Admin-page article

From edit equipment menu:

  • Navigate to equipment menu and select the pencil icon next to the machine's name to edit it

  • Available projects are shown beneath, add the machine to the project by toggling the checkmark next to the project name

  • Set the active project after adding the machine to a project

From edit project view:

  • Navigate to project menu from admin page or select the pencil icon on map page next to the project name

  • Under the project equipment list select "Edit"

  • A list of equipment inside organizations your user has access to will be opened

    • On the page there are two text fields, first one is the machine name and the other is the vendor of the machine control system and its' type

  • Add or delete the checkmark next to the equipment's name to add or remove it from the project

  • Press Apply once finished and the changes will be made

  • Edit the machine via admin menu or select the pencil icon from the equipment list

  • Set the project as active project from the edit machine menu

If a machine is currently in a project or organization that you do not have access to reach out to our technical support, who can transfer the machine

Remove equipment from project

  • Equipment can be removed from a project by:

      • Edit equipment list and toggle the checkmark of the list

      • Remove the active project

The machine may have to be also removed from the vendors service for it to not appear in the list

Trucks are managed the same way as other machine control systems

Project settings

To see project settings the user needs to be at least "Survey manager" role, but the full menu needs "Project admin" role or higher

The most important settings from the Basic settings are:

  • Coordinate system if you need to add offset or other conversions

    • The coordinate system and height system are the same as they are in the admin project settings

  • Height system

  • Default cross section model if you want a model to open with each cross section created

  • Main alignment is used for automatic alignment selection in mobile applications

  • Base drawing is used as a background maps for Truck application

  • Terrain model and bedrock model are opened in each cross section

  • Default folders for photos and logpoints can be selected here

  • Codelist is a .nfcl type file that is used as a standardized the line and surface codes used in the project

Map tile layers

External map tile layers are added from project settings. To see guide on how to add them see article Map Tile Layers from our Project Settings article.

All other settings from project settings page are explained in the Project Settings article.

Folder structure

Folder structure can be created by creating each folder separately but it can be slow and tedious. If you have a folder structure ready, a compressed empty folder structure can be uploaded. At least one folder must be created inside the root folder for a compressed folder to be uploaded. On later projects folder structure can be made using a Project template. A guide on that is found Here

  • Create a folder structure in windows or download one from a project if available

  • Go to Infrakit Files page

  • Create at least one folder on top of root folder in Infrakit

  • Upload the compressed file and select unzip

  • Wait while Infrakit creates the folder structure

For more advanced features from the files page, as-built tolerances and folder permissions can be set there.

Now you have a project with correct settings, users, machines and a folder structure ready and your project is ready to begin!
