1. Running in the Background. We are here to ensure that user has location provided whether the application is visible to user or not. Because of that we are using background service in Infrakit TRUCK™ application, to get device location at any moment. That’s the reason why battery consumption is on a high level sometimes. With that in mind, we need to make sure that the system does not shut down our application at some point. App needs to be added to the list of “protected” apps, or the list of apps that are allowed to run in the background. Also must not be included in the list of “sleeping” apps. The steps for this are different for most devices, but we can certainly find them in Settings under Battery, Power Management, Security or Apps.

The following steps should help you find this option in your device and set it up properly:

Open your device Settings

Search for a Battery or Power Management

In Battery Settings look for a section that handles “running in the Background”

Ensure that Infrakit TRUCK™ is not disabled after some period of time due to Power Optimization and the app is fully allowed to keep running in background

Open your device Settings

Tap the Apps heading

You can find there list of your installed apps

Find the Infrakit TRUCK™ and tap its listing

Look for Power Usage of the app

Ensure that Infrakit TRUCK™ is not disabled after some period of time due to Power Optimization and the app is fully allowed to keep running in background

Note: It’s very important to follow these steps and ensure that the application works in the background without interruption. In case this system functionality is not adapted to our application we cannot guarantee that the application will work properly when used for an extended period of time.

2. Improved location. Accurate location is something we strive for in our application and system. Although we use different algorithms to achieve it, sometimes users have problems with data accuracy. If the device does not provide the correct location, sometimes the best way to solve this problem is to restart the device itself.

Also, for the sake of gaining more accuracy, the android recommends the following steps.

Open your device Settings

Location access is under Security (Security and Privacy, Biometrics and security...)

Check that your Location is enabled

Search for Improve accuracy (Advanced location settings)

Enable both Wi-Fi scanning and Bluetooth scanning

3. Automatic time. Proper application and system operation require the correct time. And because of that we recommend “Automatic date and time” enabled.

Open your device Settings

In Settings, Date and Time is under General management or System heading

Check that Automatic date and time is enabled

4. Clear app data and cache. Sometimes we are getting strange issues or crashes after updating application or in some other situations. For fast solving of those kinds of issues we recommend clearing application cache and data.

Open your device Settings

Tap the Apps heading

You can find there list of your installed apps

Find the application and tap its listing

Tap the Storage heading

Tap the Clear cache and Clear data button

Note: If you clear application data, you will lose not uploaded trips (if there are some).

5. Set on automatic updates. We can’t achieve for application to update automatically without user interaction. To set up automatic updates for all apps on your device:

Open the Google Play Store application.

Tap Menu -> Settings

Tap Auto-update apps

Select an option:

Auto update apps at any time: Updates apps at any time, using either Wi-Fi or mobile data.

Auto update apps over Wi-Fi only: Updates only when you are connected to Wi-Fi.

Note: If an account on your device has a sign-in error, apps may not update automatically.
